Secure Identity for Intellectual Property – Secure Protection of Rights
'Intellectual property’ is used as a generic term for a whole set of proprietary rights including not just copyrights but also regulation of commercial proprietary rights such as patents and brand rights. Such regulation places intellectual property under the protection of law. Even so, in many cases it is still very difficult to furnish proper proof that such rights really have been violated.
Against this backdrop, the partners of the Secure Identity Innovation Cluster are seeking to develop processes, materials and devices which make it easier to prove that a violation of proprietary rights has occurred or which help to pre-empt any violation of proprietary rights in the first place.

Key Areas of Research:
- Breakable and unbreakable digital water marks
- Special holographic materials
- Flexible, limp electronic components
- Public Key Infrastructures (PKIs)
- Secure communication processes based on biometric identification servers
Projects:
While no projects have as yet been defined for this particular field, in terms of its subject matter and methodology it still remains an integral part of the Innovation Cluster portfolio.
